Introduction

Purpose

This System Implementation and Administration Manual (SIAM) presents a view of CONNECT from the viewpoint of system administration. It applies to all technology platforms on which CONNECT may run, covering preliminary steps, planning, installation, pre-live testing, and ongoing operations.

Audience

The audience for this guide includes those who plan, implement, and administer computer systems and networks as well as their immediate supervisors.  Readers will need practical knowledge and experience of site planning, computer system administration, network administration, and security administration for the specific technologies used at their computer sites.

System Description

CONNECT Key Features

The key features for all supported CONNECT releases can be found by viewing the CONNECT Feature Matrix by Release

Interface Inventory

The Interface Inventory contains a description of the externally facing WSDL and Schema files for the CONNECT Gateway and Adapter interfaces and can be found here: Interface Description Document

How to build and deploy only some of the Nationwide Health Information Network specifications using CONNECT

CONNECT supports multiple versions of the Nationwide Health Information Network specifications. In order to mitigate the additional server resources required to support the addition of these implementations for the new specifications, CONNECT can be configured to allow a subset of the services to be deployed. Details can be found here: GitHub CONNECT README

Adapter Changes Required to Use CONNECT

Current CONNECT (CONNECT 4.0 and beyond) adopters who use the Administrative Distribution, Document Submission, and Document Query services or any of the MsgProxy (aka NhincProxy or Passthru) interfaces will need to update their adapters. A description of these changes can be seen on the /wiki/spaces/CONNECT4/pages/28573728 page.
