CONNECT secures informations information over a computer network through two layers. One is through Transport Layer Security (TLS) with X509 certificate and the other is through using TLS and X509; Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) . CONNECT also can is used as part of the security process. CONNECT can also be configured to run in FIPS 140-2 environments to comply the US government computer security standard.
