[t] Nationwide Health Information Network Trial Implementation Specification -- This term is used to distinguish the specifications used during the 2008 Nationwide Health Information Network Trial Implementation project. These specifications have since been deprecated or have undergone further development and have been promoted to Production Specifications.
[e] Nationwide Health Information Network Emergence Specification -- An Nationwide Health Information Network Exchange specification developed to explore and evaluate potential new Nationwide Health Information Network Exchange features or functionality. The development of these specifications is most often done in conjunction with a pilot project.
[p] Nationwide Health Information Network Production Specification -- These are specifications which have been accepted by the Nationwide Health Information Network Technical Committee and approved for use in the Nationwide Health Information Network Exchange. They are available for implementation and use by all Nationwide Health Information Network Exchange Participants.
[d] Nationwide Health Information Network Direct Project Specification - Launched in March 2010 as a part of the Nationwide Health Information Network, the Direct Project was created to specify a simple, secure, scalable, standards-based way for participants to send authenticated, encrypted health information directly to known, trusted recipients over the Internet. Two primary Direct Project specifications are the Applicability Statement for Secure Health Transport and the XDR and XDM for Direct Messaging
[4] There is a draft Nationwide Health Information Network spec that has not been officially published yet that CONNECT 3.0 is in compliance with.
[5] This version is compliant to the 2.0 version of the Messaging Platform with the exception of the WS-RM version being used (GATEWAY-170)
[7] 4.XGF, 4.XWS, 4.XWL, and 4.XJB refer to the application servers supported in CONNECT 4.X i.e. Glassfish (GF), WebSphere (WS), WebLogic (WL) and JBoss (JB). See Release Testing page for supported application server versions used in testing.
[8] Discrepancies in the specification related to the action, namespace have been fixed in CONNECT, after discussion with CMS and CMS implementation teams. The team has reached out to Healtheway to address these specification discrepancies. For more information see link here and the design wiki with samples
Nationwide Health Information Network Production Specification -- A Nationwide Health Information Network specification that has been approved by the Nationwide Health Information Network Technical Committee for production use by participants in the Nationwide Health Information Network Limited Production Exchange.
Nationwide Health Information Network Emergence Pilot Specification -- A Nationwide Health Information Network specification that is intended only for use in specific Nationwide Health Information Network emergence pilot exchanges. Such specifications have not been approved by the Nationwide Health Information Network Technical Committee for production use in the Nationwide Health Information Network Limited Production Exchange. Current Emergence Pilot specifications may be considered for future production use in the Nationwide Health Information Network Limited Production Exchange.
